WLD 08 – Celebrated in Madison Meadow, Eugene, Oregon, USA

My Laughter Yoga Leader colleague, Sheila Gibbons, and I hosted a sweet and intimate World Laughter Day event this past Sunday afternoon in Madison Meadow, in a small grove of trees.
We had a rare afternoon of sunshine for early May which added to the festive mood, along with balloons, and colorful attire. And, chocolate hearts with Laughter sayings in them. Although our gathering was modest–everyone who attended was completely new to Laughter Yoga– people quickly got the knack of laughing for no reason.
We played Laughter games and did an hour’s worth of Laughter Yoga exercises, including some new ones, such as the following scenario: “You’re all aboard Laughter Yoga Airlines and your pilot comes onto the loud speaker and announces, “our engines are shutting down. But, not to worry, since this is Laughter Yoga Airlines–we know you all can fly this airplane to our destination with your hearty and extended laughter. Go!” Ha ha ha. It was truly a privilege and great fun to introduce Laughter Yoga to some new folks. And, since our media coverage was good, many many more people heard about us and will be looking for us in the future.
Unfortunately, nearly everyone in our group was camera shy, so we have no photos. Only beautiful memories.
Gratefully,
